Biota Yellow Tang

The Yellow Tang is one of the most recognizable saltwater fish in the aquarium hobby. Known for its brilliant solid yellow coloration and constant swimming activity, this tang is both eye-catching and functional in reef tanks, as it actively grazes on nuisance algae. Native to the reefs of Hawaii and the Central Pacific, it thrives in established aquariums with plenty of swimming space and rockwork for grazing.

Semi-aggressive. Can be territorial toward other tangs or fish with a similar body shape, but generally peaceful with most reef-safe community fish.

Diet
Primarily herbivorous.

• Mysis shrimp or brine shrimp (occasionally)

• Naturally occurring algae in the aquarium
