Lemon Tetras

Lemon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon pulchripinnis) is a bright and active freshwater fish known for its soft yellow coloration and striking red eyes. Their translucent yellow bodies are accented by black and yellow markings on the dorsal and anal fins, giving them a vibrant yet elegant appearance in planted aquariums.

These peaceful schooling fish originate from the clear and slow-moving waters of South America. In aquariums, they thrive when kept in groups of six or more, where their natural schooling behavior and shimmering colors become more pronounced. When comfortable and well cared for, Lemon Tetras display deeper yellow tones and more vivid fin markings.

Lemon Tetras are excellent additions to peaceful community aquariums and pair well with other small species such as rasboras, Corydoras catfish, dwarf cichlids, and other tetras. A planted aquarium with driftwood, open swimming areas, and slightly subdued lighting helps them feel secure and encourages their best coloration.
