Micro Thai Crab

Micro Thai Crab (Limnopilos naiyanetri), often called the Thai Micro Crab, is a tiny and fascinating freshwater invertebrate prized by nano-aquarium enthusiasts. Native to Thailand, these crabs remain extremely small and spend most of their time perched on plants, driftwood, or décor while gently filtering food particles from the water with their delicate fan-like claws.

Their bodies are typically light brown to translucent with fine hairs that help them capture microscopic food. Because of their small size and peaceful nature, Micro Thai Crabs are excellent inhabitants for planted nano aquariums and shrimp tanks. They are shy creatures that prefer aquariums with plenty of plants, mosses, and hiding places where they can feel secure.

Unlike many crabs, Thai Micro Crabs are fully aquatic and do not require land access. They rarely bother tank mates and coexist well with small peaceful fish and freshwater shrimp.
